Hill Mechanical, working directly with Crate & Barrel, is the integrated project delivery BIM partner responsible for the HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection for this new 25,500 square foot, two-story retail store.The mechanical system includes: five roof mounted packaged air conditioning units totaling 98 tons of cooling, eight VAV boxes, three cabinet unit heaters, two exhaust fans and a building automation system connected to Crate & Barrel's Northbrook Corporate offices. The plumbing system primarily consists of upgrading and relocating existing shell roof drains and bathrooms. Building Information Modeling (BIM) was especially important since all mechanical/electrical penetrations had to be perfectly matched with the wood ceiling structure and post tensing slab. Architect:
